A new moussaka

Delicious Moussaka with tuna and many others is a very consistent dish that my monkey loves. "Eating as is no tomorrow " might fit the situation. She gobbled it up!

Moussaka is a well-known dish in many countries, and one can see different changes in every country.

The potato Moussaka, because they are different types, is literally a layer of potatoes, filling, another layer of potatoes.

And from this point, I like to believe that each one can do it in his own way.

I don't understand when some people say, "That's not the way of doing it." I think this is such limited thinking.

If I don't like pork, why use pork? And so on millions of reasons.

So today, I used tuna because my Monkey likes it with rice. I'll add an egg and a lot of cheese, two types of cheese.

I love potatoes, especially the yellow ones, which I'll use today.

There I go, starting with potatoes, boiling them well with the skin, piling them when they are done, slicing them into rounds.( 2 mm thick, more or less), frying them, and leaving them apart to chill.

Before frying, I put a pinch of turmeric in the oil, which gave it a very beautiful yellowish colour.

It looks very good.

Done with the potatoes.

Now the filling.

As I said, I will use basmati rice, tuna, garlic, and a pinch of salt. I will fry the garlic first, then add rice (before washing it a few times, of course) and tuna. Obviously, you can add anything you want.

The final step.

Having the walls of whatever casserole or pot, or anything you want to use, well oiled.

We get the potatoes first and try to cover the bottom of the casserole well.

Second, the filling: Maybe try to get the same thickness as the potato player. I think I got more filling, but well...

I'll mix two eggs and spread them around the tuna-rice.

As I said I'll put a lot of cheese. Grated Cheddar & Leicester spread on the tuna-rice.

I finished with the filling. It is very much, I think. It will be a chubby Moussaka.

Now comes the second layer of potatoes, trying to cover everything.

I'm almost done.

I just need a glass of warm water to add it.I will add it almost to the second layer of potatoes, almost reaching that layer.

Finally !!!!

In the oven, it goes.

Around 20 mins should do.

When finished, I plan to spread again a bit of cheese, again, a chubby Moussaka.

I hope you enjoy it !!
