Chubby Colorful Burgers!!
These Chubby Burgers were a success! I’m so happy when that happens, especially because there was so much to do.
I made three types of dough, hiding vegetables as always, and I had to make these big burgers. My Monkey likes them like that, so I had to make them really chubby.
Starting from the beginning: the doughs were made with red cabbage, beetroot, and yellow pepper.
As I always say, I have to blend the vegetables very, very well, and then just make a nice bread dough using the usual bread ingredients. Sometimes I add cheese to some, but most of the time it’s just bread flour, salt, yeast, a bit of oil, and my blended vegetables. Once the dough is ready, it’s time to let it rest—perfect for making the burgers.
For the burgers: mince, egg, garlic, onion, some seasonings, and tomato paste. As I always say, each person should use what they know their child will eat. I can’t add too many seasonings, so I do my best. After forming them into big or small balls, press them a bit and start frying them. I think cooking them on low heat for a longer time helps cook them through.
By now, the doughs should be fluffy and risen, so it’s time to make the buns. I didn’t use moulds this time. I usually do, as it gives them a perfect shape, but not this time.
I put them on the tray and let them rise again. A bit of butter on top, then into the oven. They don’t need too long to bake—depending on your oven, 5-7 minutes, and they’re done!
With both the buns and burgers ready, you’re almost done.
My Monkey wanted a lot of cheese and ketchup, so I added all that.
They looked very big, and I wondered how she would eat all of it.
She loved how it looked and ate one very quickly. She couldn’t eat anything else after that.
Hahaha!! I was very happy.
I had to freeze some burgers and buns. I drank a lot of tea and felt really tired after all that...
But I was happy!!
I hope this helps you in some way.
Many thanks!!
